Statement (far too serious)

Informed by surroundings and the natural world, my recent art refers to the play between convergence and chaos —attempting to depict a world of junctions and union, where process and undertone combine with simplicity of shape and nuance of line.

When working, I attempt to vary my level of acuity; from the predetermined to the unpredictable, conscious to oblivious, controlling to haphazard. Work in wax makes it easier to give in the unpredicatable and by restricting the visual context, each work becomes a journey of the spirit, a container to work inside and a game of chance.

Encaustic has reduced the physical space, but enlarged my perspective.

My hopes are that each exploration leads to some greater sense of extrinsic enlightenment.

mostly still enjoy my work in advertising, like to play rock and roll pretty loud and cannot get music out of my system. Love to build boats and daydream about them. And of course painting in wax. Chaos is a natural subject as I've has never really had a plan for anything.
